Since 2012, Michelle has been a member of the "Greater Miami Ski Club," one of the most prestigious ski clubs in the world. She trained there and spent almost every weekend with family and friends. In April 2016, Michelle was skiing at the club with her friend and their daughters when one of the world's best skiers, was also there. They both wanted to take a class with him, but it was not possible since he was training. At that moment, another club member introduced Michelle and her friend to a new member, who was immediately referred to as Fotis Dulos, an excellent skier and the champion of Greece, who was accompanied by his then-girlfriend, Elena G.
Michelle and her friend, who usually prepared BBQs at the club, cordially invited them, among other members, to stay for lunch. Both accepted and attended. Fotis had just signed up as a member of the club and began visiting Miami and Palm Beach almost every weekend with his two oldest children and often with his nanny, Lauren Almeida. Fotis and his children started spending time with Michelle and her friend and their respective daughters, asking them to drive the boat for him to complete his set of 6 passes, in exchange for teaching both of them.
The world of skiing is small where everyone knows each other; it's a very familiar circle centered around conversations related to the sport, upcoming competitions, etc. Michelle's goal was to rank among the top 50 women in her category in the USA – in 2019, her ranking was #53. Fotis became her source of sports inspiration and helped her improve and perfect her style. Soon, both began to develop feelings for each other. Michelle, always very direct, asked about his relationship with his girlfriend. To her surprise, Fotis told her that he had ended that relationship and began explaining his marital situation with Jennifer, who he mentioned had been no longer intimately connected since 2010 but had agreed to continue together but lead separate lives for the sake of their five children.
On several occasions when traveling to Miami, Fotis was accompanied by his best friends and his five children, often including the nanny. His life seemed very successful yet simple, always focused on his children and his sport, which dazzled Michelle.

After many months, Fotis offered for Michelle to live with him and move to Connecticut. Knowing it was a significant change, Michelle was completely in love and saw in Fotis an exceptional, successful, excellent father, handsome, and kind – all the characteristics that a woman dreams of in a man. She discussed it and had extensive talks with several people closest to her, starting with her daughter's father, who is a very important person in her life, and also with her family and friends, all of whom were very happy for her happiness.
Her understanding of the relationship between Fotis and Jennifer was that they maintained a very friendly relationship and that Jennifer was agreeable to their relationship since she had moved with the children to New Canaan in June 2017.

Michelle moved to Farmington, CT, in September 2017 after returning from Argentina with her daughter. Once again filled with her positive spirit, she was excited to begin a new life with her new partner in CT, always putting her daughter first. Their relationship is the strongest of all parent-child bonds, and she organized her daughter with a routine of sports, artistic activities, and play-dates with her new friends.
During their two-year relationship, Michelle and Fotis did not live together full-time. However, Michelle spent no more than 14 months with Fotis while frequently traveling out of state with her daughter for extended periods due to her daughter's athletic commitments. Michelle and her daughter spent the ski season in Colorado for her daughter's training and the rest of the non-ski season in Connecticut and Miami, always devoted to her daughter's needs.
